Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog visit Luseland

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency made a special presentation at Luseland’s old fire hall on Friday afternoon, August 28th. It was the final and biggest summer event hosted by the Luseland Library!

Smokey the Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog were special guests at a community barbecue and presentation at Luseland on Friday afternoon. They accompanied public educators from the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, who told local kids all about fire safety and emergency preparedness. Submitted by Dawna Nienaber

The afternoon kicked off with a community barbecue with members of Luseland’s volunteer fire department and police service in attendance.

Sparky the Fire Dog helped public education program coordinators tell kids all about home fire safety and emergency preparedness. And Smokey Bear assisted in providing information on wildfire prevention, outdoor fire safety and environmental responsibility.
