REGINA – Saskatchewan Government Insurance has appointed Kent Campbell as its new president and chief executive officer. Campbell will join SGI on Aug. 1, 2026, and assume the role on Oct. 1.
He currently serves as president and CEO of Crown Investments Corporation, a position he has held since 2020. In that role he worked closely with SGI, providing strategic direction, oversight and performance management. He brings nearly 30 years of experience with the Government of Saskatchewan, including close to two decades at the deputy minister level.
"We are very pleased to welcome Kent to SGI," said Gary Vidal, SGI board chair. "He is a thoughtful and experienced leader who understands both the complexity of our environment and the importance of the work our employees do every day. Kent brings strong leadership in governance and financial stewardship, and we are confident he will build on the strong foundation in place at SGI."
Campbell said he looks forward to joining the organization and working with its employees.
"SGI is a strong organization with a clear vision, a unique business model and a culture that stands out," he said. "What has always impressed me most is the commitment of employees and the way teams across the organization support customers and communities. I'm honoured to have the opportunity to be part of the next chapter."
During his time at CIC, Campbell helped guide SGI through a period of change and developed a strong understanding of its mandate, including the importance of the Auto Fund to Saskatchewan people.
"Kent brings strong leadership and a solid understanding of the role SGI plays for Saskatchewan people," said Jeremy Harrison, minister responsible for SGI. "I am confident he will build on SGI's strengths and ensure the organization continues to deliver for customers and communities across the province."
