Parade kicks off fifth annual Harvest Festival in Kerrobert

KERROBERT – The fifth annual Harvest Festival kicked off in Kerrobert on Saturday morning, October 10, with a festive parade. Businesses, organizations, families and kids waved and smiled at all the people who came out to take in the parade. Decorated floats, machinery and antiques all helped make the parade a crowd pleaser.

A flag football jamboree got underway at 1:00 p.m. at Kerrobert Composite School. Due to the chilly weather, face painting, a market, a mechanical bull, live music and other fun activities were held at the Prairieland Community Centre, with the bale castle and pull wagon rides available outdoors. The Courthouse Restoration Committee served hot chocolate and apple cider, along with a delicious supper of smokies and hot dogs with homemade German potato salad and beans. The proceeds from the fundraiser meal went towards the historic and beautiful Kerrobert Courthouse. After the meal, children enjoyed watching a movie, and the Chamber Business Awards were presented later in the evening.
