New therapeutic tub and lift now in use at Eston Health Centre
ESTON — A new state-of-the-art bathtub and lift is now installed and in use at the Eston Health Centre, thanks to funding from the Dr. David S. Mulder Eston District Health Foundation and local donors.
The Foundation announced the purchase last July, and the specialized unit recently arrived from Germany. It replaces one of two older tubs at the facility and is already being used several times a day.

Eston Health Centre facility manager Jocelyn Nash said the tub is used four or five times daily by long-term care residents, as well as by some members of the public. She thanked the Foundation and community donors for supporting the project and helping bring upgraded equipment to the centre.
The new tub and lift cost $32,707.69. Features include digitally controlled water temperature, a built-in scale used to weigh users once a week, separate shower and cleaning nozzles, and adjustable height capability for improved safety and ease of use.
Foundation board members and major donors recently toured the facility to view the new equipment and learn more about how it benefits patients and staff.
