Kerrobert Red Dogs bring Senior Ball back to the diamond

By Kate Winquist

Baseball is making a comeback in Kerrobert — and a brand-new senior team is leading the charge.

The Kerrobert Red Dogs are stepping onto the diamond for the very first season in team history, bringing fresh energy, community spirit, and a whole lot of fun back to local ball. The new squad is proudly sponsored by Connor Phillips and Red Dog Solutions, and organizers say the goal is simple: build something lasting — a franchise in the making, dynasty pending.

The Red Dogs are currently inviting players to join the roster, whether they’re longtime ballplayers, casual weekend competitors, or someone dusting off a glove for the first time in years. Team representatives say this inaugural season is a chance to shape the culture from the ground up, start new traditions, and create memories that will stick around for seasons to come.

“It’s all about good baseball, good people, and good laughs — with just enough competition to make it interesting,” the team shared online.

Along with building their player base, the Red Dogs are also rallying community support for an important upgrade at the fairgrounds: a new pitcher’s mound. While the team has the field and the players to get started, they’re now hoping to raise funds to purchase a mound expected to cost approximately $7,900. Organizers say the improvement will benefit minor and senior players for years to come, helping strengthen baseball development across the community.

Residents interested in donating or helping bring senior ball back to Kerrobert are encouraged to reach out to one of the team’s organizers:

  • Matthew Roblin — 306-494-7379

  • Lucas Richmond — 306-834-4451

  • Tyler Simpson — 306-460-9687

With a new team on the field and the community backing behind them, the Red Dogs say they’re ready to bring the spirit of baseball roaring back — fur, dirt, and glory included.

Go Red Dogs!
