Driver charged after breath demand refusal near Elrose: RCMP

A driver is facing charges after Rosetown/Kyle RCMP responded to an erratic driving complaint on Highway 4 near Elrose last week.

According to the detachment’s Feb. 20 to Feb. 26 media release, officers located the vehicle and charged the driver with failure or refusal to comply with a breath demand.

ROSETOWN

Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision in Rosetown on Feb. 22. There was minor damage and the incident was deemed non-reportable.

On Feb. 23, RCMP received a complaint of theft in Rosetown; however, the occurrence was deemed unfounded. That same day, officers responded to a trespassing complaint. The investigation remains ongoing.

Members also attended the Rosetown Landfill after noticing smoke in the area. Police determined the Town was conducting a controlled burn.

On Feb. 25, officers responded to a suspicious person complaint in Rosetown. After attending, police reported there was nothing suspicious.

RCMP also assisted in keeping the peace while personal belongings were removed from a residence near Rosetown.

KYLE AND AREA

RCMP conducted wellbeing checks in Harris and Kyle during the reporting period.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Lacadena.

Officers responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 7 near Harris but were unable to intercept the vehicle.

On Feb. 25, RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications in Kyle. That investigation remains ongoing.

During the reporting period, officers issued 49 traffic-related charges. There were no 911 misdials and one false alarm.
