Naida Murray

1936 - 2026

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Naida Murray on Sept. 13, 2026, at the age of 90. She passed peacefully with her family beside her. Naida and Vernon were married for 67 years and she will be dearly missed.

Naida was a kind, caring, compassionate person and made friends with everyone she met. She loved spending time with her family, square dancing and was a fabulous cook and baker. Her grandchildren were precious to her. She spent many hours baking their favourite desserts, having tea parties, playing dolls, and getting hairdos. She wouldn't hesitate to pick up a hockey stick or kick a soccer ball to all's delight.

Naida is survived by her husband Vernon; children Brian (Lisa), Brad (Lori), Heather (Rob Pawliuk); grandchildren Kendra, Allison, Cole, Robyn (Bryce Golosky), Nicole, Chris and Kayla; and 4 great-grandchildren Kira-Rose, Jade, Tristan and Fox.

Naida was predeceased by her brother Ed Framingham (Donna) and sisters Merle Watkins (Ken) and Judy Krywa (Merv); and on the Murray side of the family, Marg Falkiner (Roy), Ray Murray, Herb Murray, Grace Chrapun (Moe).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at the Glenwood Funeral Home in Sherwood Park, AB.

Donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
