Brigitte Normand
June 27, 1967 – September 20, 2026
Brigitte Normand, age 59, of Rosetown passed away on September 20, 2026. She was born June 27, 1967, at the Rosetown Union Hospital to Bert and Marie-Paule Normand of Sovereign. Brigitte attended the Opportunity School, which was part of Walter Aseltine School, with memorable teachers Mrs. Glass, Mrs. Karvonen and Mr. Wickstrom. She then attended Rosetown Composite High School and John Dolan and Marion Graham Schools in Saskatoon while living with Angie Brown and her children, Charlotte and Rodney. Brigitte then worked at Cosmo Industries. She spent a total of 28 years in Saskatoon. She returned to Rosetown in 2013 to begin work at Wheatland Regional Centre and lived at Wilson House.
Brigitte loved music, dancing, bowling and even golfing, which amazed many of us as her eyesight was not great, but she managed to hit that ball. She was determined. Her love of music took her to Craven and Nashville. She also travelled to Disney World, Disneyland, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Arizona, Quebec and Victoria. She enjoyed boating and spending time at the lake with Barry and Judy Kidd.
Brigitte’s parents were told she would have a short life due to her heart condition, but she lived well until the age of 59. In the last couple of years, her health declined. Her final days were spent in long-term care at Rose Villa.
Brigitte is survived by her sisters Nicole Ptolemy and Michele Minish, her brother Rene Normand, brothers-in-law Glen Gates, Bob Ptolemy and Orville Minish, sister-in-law Arleen Normand, her uncle Roland Dube, aunts Nicole D’Amboise and Magella Chouinard from Quebec, nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Marie-Paule (1999) and Bert (2005), her special uncle Albert (2003) and aunt Yvette (2021), brother Louis Normand (2021) and sister France Gates (2025).
Brigitte’s family would like to thank the staff at Wilson House and Wheatland Regional Centre for the excellent care she received for the past 13 years. Also, thank you to the Rosetown Acute and Long-Term Care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shanidar Funeral Home.
