WINTER FEED, STACKED IN SEPTEMBER

Round bales dot the fields outside Kerrobert, with the town's water tower on the horizon. Every bale in this field is a week of feed for somebody's herd once the snow flies. Prairie farmers feed the country, but they feed their own livestock first.
