Unity RCMP respond to impaired driving, theft and curfew breach

Unity RCMP responded to a range of incidents between Feb. 10 and Feb. 16, including an impaired driving charge, a stolen trailer and several complaints that remain under investigation.

Unity

In Unity, police charged a youth with failing to comply with an undertaking condition after conducting a curfew check.

Members also received a complaint of identity fraud; however, there was insufficient evidence to proceed. Officers conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a concerned citizen and responded to two traffic complaints.

Wilkie

In Wilkie, RCMP received a report of a stolen trailer. The trailer was later recovered near Wilkie and the matter remains under investigation.

Police also received a report of a suspicious individual at a residence. That investigation is ongoing.

A complaint of uttering threats and a report of a stolen licence plate were both investigated, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed in either case.

CN Police reported railway crossing malfunctions in Landis and in a rural area near Wilkie. The incidents were documented for information purposes.

Members also responded to four traffic complaints.

Macklin

In Macklin, RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications; however, there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police are investigating a report of an individual dumping oil in a ditch near Macklin.

During a traffic stop, members issued a 21-day roadside suspension. A 36-year-old Macklin man was also charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle following a separate traffic stop.

Officers responded to one additional traffic complaint in the community.
