Unity RCMP respond to ATV crash, theft reports and mental health calls across region
Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP were kept busy last week with a variety of calls, ranging from an ATV crash and theft reports to several mental health-related concerns. The following is a summary of police activity from Oct. 14 to Oct. 20, 2025.
In Unity, officers responded to an ATV collision that left one person injured. The rider was taken by EMS to Unity Health Centre before being airlifted by STARS to Saskatoon with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police also followed up on a report of someone not complying with the conditions of an undertaking. When members arrived, the individual was no longer at the scene.
Several calls related to mental health were handled throughout the week. In one case, officers spoke with the person involved; in another, the individual was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment. Police also conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a family member.
Unity RCMP and the local fire department attended a fire in a rural area. Fortunately, it turned out to be a controlled burn by the landowner.
In addition, officers responded to two traffic complaints, one false 911 call and two false alarms.
In Wilkie, police received a report of an individual allegedly in possession of stolen property. That investigation remains ongoing. RCMP also dealt with a breach of peace complaint and issued a verbal warning.
A stolen vehicle report and another theft complaint are both under investigation. Officers were also called to assist a motorist who was locked out of a vehicle and referred them to a local towing company.
Members handled several Mental Health Act calls during the week. In one situation, police could not locate the person involved but later learned the individual had travelled to another area, where another RCMP detachment was notified.
Two traffic complaints and two false 911 calls were also reported in the Wilkie area.
In Macklin, RCMP looked into a theft complaint but found there wasn’t enough evidence to proceed. Officers also received two traffic complaints during the week.
