Unity RCMP lay charges in assault and impaired driving investigations
Unity RCMP responded to a variety of calls during the latest reporting period, including assault investigations, impaired driving, thefts, mental health concerns and traffic-related incidents.
A 30-year-old Unity man was charged with assault, uttering threats and failing to comply with a release order condition following an assault complaint.
In a separate incident, a 34-year-old Unity man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, mischief, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop after an accident after police received a report of an impaired driver.
Members also responded to a Mental Health Act complaint, resulting in an individual being transported by EMS to Unity Health Centre for assessment.
Other calls included a vehicle collision involving a deer, a firearms complaint in which a firearm was voluntarily surrendered pending a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence, a report of a stolen bicycle, a disturbing the peace complaint, an ATV fire in a rural area and two reports of harassing communications. One complaint lacked sufficient evidence to proceed, while the complainant in the other matter declined further action.
RCMP also executed an arrest warrant on behalf of Saskatoon Police Service, conducted a wellbeing check and responded to two false 911 calls.
Wilkie
Wilkie RCMP continue to investigate several files, including reports of stolen bicycles, theft, uttering threats and a break and enter at a business.
A 68-year-old Wilkie man was charged with uttering threats and resisting a peace officer following a dispute.
Members also responded to an assault complaint. Police spoke with the subject of the complaint and issued a verbal warning after the complainant requested no further action.
Other calls included a Mental Health Act complaint, a criminal harassment complaint in which the complainant declined to proceed, a disturbing the peace complaint, a report of a suspicious person near a residence and a request for assistance involving a peace bond.
Officers also acted as mediators in a dispute between a business and a customer and conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a family friend. There were also four traffic complaints during the reporting period.
Macklin
Macklin RCMP received a complaint involving an individual allegedly taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. The vehicle was returned and the complainant requested no further action.
Police are also investigating a child welfare complaint.
There was one traffic complaint reported during the period.
