Unity RCMP investigating fatal rollover

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m., the Unity RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover near the intersection of Highway #14 and Highway #675, west of Unity, SK. The driver, an adult male from British Columbia, was declared deceased at the scene by EMS. His family has been notified.

Prior to the rollover, the Unity RCMP received multiple reports about the vehicle, indicating it was being driven erratically. Officers attempted to conduct traffic stops; however, the vehicle did not stop and continued at a high rate of speed. When officers arrived at the scene of the rollover, they provided first aid to the driver until EMS arrived.

Due to the police interaction prior to the rollover, the Saskatchewan RCMP notified the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) about the male's death. SIRT determined that the incident did not fall within its mandate. In the interest of transparency, we are disclosing details regarding the police interaction.
