Students at Westcliffe Composite School strap on snowshoes

Students at Westcliffe Composite School in Marengo kicked off the new year by strapping on snowshoes. For many students it was their first ever snowshoeing experience. Grades 3 to 12 Phys Ed classes all had the opportunity to get out on the trails, where they learned how to move through the snow while building endurance and confidence.

The Grade 5-6-7 class took things up a notch with snowshoe kickball - a definite challenge, but one they tackled with determination, teamwork and a whole lot of laughter. The effort, sportsmanship and fun made it a memorable outdoor learning experience for everyone.
