Minor injuries reported in Rosetown house fire
ROSETOWN — A house fire in Rosetown left several people with minor injuries early Monday morning, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Police said officers responded to the fire at about 4:05 a.m. on Feb. 17. A few minor injuries were reported. Further details were not immediately available.
The fire was one of several calls handled by Rosetown RCMP between Feb. 13 and Feb. 19.
On Feb. 15 at about 8:53 p.m., police received a complaint of a truck that had become submerged in the ice on the South Saskatchewan River near Dyrland’s Crossing. No injuries were reported.
Earlier in the week, on Feb. 16 at 9:39 a.m., RCMP received a report of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle on Highway 7 near Zealandia. No injuries were reported.
On Feb. 18 at 9:08 a.m., police received a complaint about the theft of a barbecue from the curling rink in Fiske. The investigation is ongoing. Later that day, at 2:57 p.m., RCMP received a fraud complaint in Rosetown.
Other incidents during the reporting period included a vandalism complaint in Lucky Lake on Feb. 14; a trespassing complaint in Wiseton, where officers attended and provided a courtesy ride; and a disturbing-the-peace call in Rosetown, where both parties were spoken to and no further action was required.
Police also responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the RM of Monet on Feb. 18. Officers attended and no further action was required. On Feb. 13, a harassing communications complaint in Kyle was investigated and deemed unfounded.
On Feb. 19, RCMP issued 27 traffic-related charges. Police also received two 911 misdial calls and four false alarm calls during the reporting period.
