Mel and Sophia Campbell celebrate 75 years of marriage

Mel and Sophia Campbell celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on March 26, 2026, at their home in Caleb Village in Kindersley.

Sophia was born on Feb. 23, 1933, and Mel was born on Jan. 20, 1932.

“We were married in the pastor’s house in Kindersley,” Sophia said. There were two witnesses present, and she described their wedding as “very informal.”

“It was a big surprise. We didn’t tell anyone,” she chuckled.

After their wedding, the couple lived on a farm in the Brock-Netherhill area.

Mel and Sophia were looking forward to celebrating with all their family on the weekend.

“That will be our wedding celebration!” Sophia said.
