Kindersley students march Main Street for Terry Fox

KINDERSLEY – KCS students wore their gold and black Kobra colours as they joined Westberry and Elizabeth schools on Thursday morning, Sept. 24 for the annual Terry Fox walk parade on Main Street.

The weather was perfect and the streets were lined with spectators as the school band led the parade. Between musical selections the students and teachers took time to shake hands and thank people for coming out to the parade to show their support.

This year KCS students were challenged to bring two toonies for Terry to their Period 1 teachers. Since all kids love donuts, the class that raised the most funds per capita was awarded with delicious donuts!

This annual event supports vital cancer research while also building incredible school spirit for Kindersley's students. It's always an opportunity for students, their families and staff to showcase the community's generosity and work towards reaching their fundraising goal.

KCS had set a fundraising goal of $1,600, while Elizabeth Middle School students were working hard to reach their goal of $2,500. Westberry students were also collecting toonies for Terry as well as making donations online.

The three schools worked together to continue Terry's dream of raising money for cancer research.
