Kerrobert Rodeo named 2026 KCRA Rodeo of the Year

KERROBERT — What nearly became a cancelled rodeo has instead earned one of the biggest honours of the season.

The Ace Environmental Services Kerrobert Rodeo has been named the 2026 KCRA Rodeo of the Year, an accomplishment organizers proudly announced ahead of the Kakeyow Cowboys Rodeo Association (KCRA) Finals.

“We are so proud to have turned our almost cancelled rodeo into the rodeo of the year,” organizers posted on the Kerrobert Rodeo Facebook page.

They credited the success of the event to the many sponsors and volunteers who helped make the rodeo possible, along with the contestants who competed. Organizers also singled out Kerrobert Sand & Gravel for a major donation that helped support the event.

The recognition is particularly meaningful considering the uncertainty surrounding the rodeo earlier in the year. Rather than losing the event, community support helped keep it alive — and ultimately turned it into an award-winning one.

The KCRA Finals were scheduled to take place this past weekend, bringing the 2026 rodeo season to a close.

Kerrobert organizers are already looking ahead.
