The co-op presented the cheque Oct. 13 at the Kindersley Co-op C-Store.
Fuel Good Day ran Sept. 15 in Kindersley and Eatonia. Ten cents from every litre of fuel sold at the Kindersley Co-op C-Store and Eatonia Farm Supply went to West Central Abilities. Barbecues in both communities that day added to the total.
The co-op also ran an Extreme Car Wash promotion from Sept. 9 to 15. Turtle Wax donated $2 from every Extreme Car Wash sold during that week.
West Central Abilities provides programs and services for people with diverse abilities across the west-central region. The money will support the organization’s work on inclusion, independence and community participation.
The presentation fell during Co-op Week, Oct. 11 to 17. This year’s national theme is Power the Economy, which focuses on the role co-operatives play in local economies and community groups.
The co-op thanked the customers who bought fuel and car washes, the people who came out to the barbecues, and the employees, volunteers and community partners who helped run the day.
