Kindersley Alliance Church Message
By Pastor Lionel Moffatt
As I write this article, the snow if falling and the busy Christmas season is upon us. As my wife and I were doing some shopping yesterday, we noticed how the stores were already sold out of many of their Christmas decorations and that the isles are starting to look a little bare.
This is the reality of the season. We rush from one place to another. Christmas parties and work gatherings are common at this time of year. We have presents to buy and wrap and are busy with getting the house decorated and the baking all done before company arrives. Or maybe we are the ones that need to be out on the highways this year visiting family and friends.
The very first Christmas was the same way. Because of the Roman census, Bethlehem, overrun with people, was so busy that Joseph and Mary had to find less than ideal accommodations. They had to stay with the barn animals. Yet in the busyness and surroundings that they found themselves in, a true miracle occurred. Jesus, the Saviour of the World, the “Prince of Peace” was born.
Jesus came to offer each one of us a peace that surpasses all understanding. It is the type of peace that can’t be bought or taken and is far more than just a feeling. It is grounded in the realization that He is the peace we all need.
During this season of hustle and bustle, take time to reflect on Jesus – the Prince of Peace.
May you all have a very merry Christmas.
