Denzil Community Days: Keeping Our Community Alive

Denzil Community Days ran Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9. Floats gathered at the elevator and rolled through town on Sunday morning including Denzil Mayor Larry Reiniger riding in a Canadian-flagged Ranger. The antique tractor pulls drew a mix of green, red and yellow iron: John Deere diesels, a well-worn Minneapolis-Moline, a Massey-Harris 44 named Sylvester. Drivers ranged from grandparents with grandchildren on their laps to teenagers in Deere caps taking a turn at the wheel. Spectators filled the tent along the track, lawn chairs and picnic tables, watching every hitch and pull. The family fun bones tournament followed with parents and kids lining up their bones along the chalk and took their shots while the sun held.
