3 perfect appetizers to serve your guests during the holidays

Is it your turn to host family or friends for Christmas? Between decorating and curating the perfect playlist, don’t overlook the importance of appetizers. Hors d’oeuvres are a true holiday essential. Want to impress your guests without complicating your life?

Here are three suggestions that are perfect for the occasion.

Bacon-wrapped pear bites

Slice some pears and place one or two sprigs of rosemary on each slice. Wrap each slice in bacon and bake at 400 F for 15 minutes. That’s it!

Avocado crisps

In a bowl, combine diced cucumber and chopped dill. Add lemon zest and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, mash an avocado and mix in the juice of half a lemon with a dollop of Greek yogurt.

Take some tortilla chips, spread the avocado mixture on top and garnish with a spoonful of the cucumber mixture. For a little extra flair, place a piece of smoked salmon or salted seaweed on top.

Oysters with a splash

Oysters make a simple yet elegant appetizer to welcome your guests. Arrange the open shellfish on a bed of coarse sea salt or crushed ice. Then, drizzle the oysters with a few drops of lemon juice. For an “adult” version, add a splash of vodka.

Stop by your local shops to pick up the freshest ingredients. Bon appetit!
