Kindersley 11-year-old reaches finals at Saskatoon cube competition

Eli Halter has been going to cube competitions for about a year. This past Saturday he attended his third, SaskatoonxN 2026, a World Cube Association competition held in Saskatoon.

The 11-year-old Elizabeth Middle School student from Kindersley competed in two events this time, the 2x2 and the 3x3. He moved on to the finals in the 2x2, a smaller version of the classic puzzle, and set a new personal record of about four seconds.

His personal record on the 3x3, the standard Rubik's Cube most people know, is just 19 seconds.

Eli plans to keep going to competitions and keep trying to beat all his personal records. His goal is to one day set a world record.
