Love small-town stories? Curious how communities really work? Want real bylines and responsibility?

Your Southwest Media Group, located in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, is hiring a full-time reporter to cover:

  • Civic affairs

  • Agriculture

  • Rural healthcare

  • Regional events

  • Human-interest features

Produce 8-12 stories per week for print and online with opportunities through the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI).

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

  • Has strong reporting instincts

  • Works independently and meets deadlines

  • Is comfortable travelling rural communities

  • Has a valid driver's licence

  • Is eager to learn and grow

Full-time: 35-40 hours/week
Term: Until March 31, 2027
