Westcliffe School Scores $50,000 for Playground Upgrades
MARENGO — Westcliffe Composite School is celebrating a major boost for its students and community, securing $50,000 in funding for playground improvements.
The funding comes from two sources. In summer 2024, Canadian Natural Resources awarded the school a $25,000 grant to support new playground equipment. Rather than spending it immediately, the School Community Council chose to wait, anticipating a potential provincial grant promised during the 2024 election campaign.
That strategy paid off. When provincial playground grant applications opened this fall, the school submitted its request and recently received confirmation of an additional $25,000 from the Government of Saskatchewan.
The combined $50,000 will allow Westcliffe to enhance its playground, providing a safer and more engaging space for students.
