Unity-area RCMP investigate break-ins, threats and stolen vehicle
The following is a summary of recent calls handled by the Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP detachments.
Unity
Unity RCMP investigated two reported break and enters during the reporting period, including one at a rural garage where there was insufficient evidence to proceed and another at a residence that remains under investigation.
Members also continue to investigate a complaint of uttering threats.
Police responded to reports of a suspicious person near a business, an abandoned vehicle in a rural area, a vehicle-deer collision, an intoxicated person inside a business and another intoxicated person in public. Officers also conducted a wellbeing check, located a reported lost cellphone and responded to a hit-and-run that caused damage to a vehicle.
A railway crossing malfunction in Scott was reported by CN Police for information purposes.
Traffic enforcement resulted in one three-day roadside suspension. Officers also responded to a two-vehicle collision near Senlac, two fraud complaints where there was insufficient evidence to proceed, two traffic complaints and four false 911 calls.
Wilkie
Wilkie RCMP continue to investigate a break and enter at the Wilkie Community Centre, an assault, uttering threats, an alleged breach of a court order, an alleged breach of an undertaking and a complaint involving the distribution of intimate images without consent.
A 32-year-old North Battleford man was charged with break and enter after officers responded to a break-in at a business.
Police also responded to reports of theft, although there was insufficient evidence to proceed in two separate occurrences. Members investigated a vehicle fire, spoke with an individual regarding the Fire Prevention Act, mediated a dispute between two adults and issued a verbal warning following a disturbing the peace complaint.
Officers also investigated a report of someone throwing an object onto a residential garage roof. Police noted the individual involved was charged in another matter.
Members patrolled after receiving a complaint of people ringing a residence doorbell and running away but were unable to locate the individuals.
Wilkie RCMP also responded to one traffic complaint.
Macklin
Macklin RCMP continue to investigate the theft of a vehicle reported in Macklin.
Members also responded to a collision involving a light post, an abandoned vehicle that was gone before police arrived, suspicious individuals in a rural area near Macklin and a firearms complaint that was determined to be fireworks.
Police conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a health-care professional and made a referral to the local food bank.
Macklin RCMP also responded to one traffic complaint.
