Two-vehicle collision on Highway 14 near Unity

UNITY

Unity RCMP responded to multiple calls during the week of June 16 to 22, 2026, including three vehicle collisions, a crop damage complaint, and an ongoing theft investigation.

Police received reports of two separate two-vehicle collisions in Unity, both with no injuries. One was reported for insurance purposes. A third collision occurred on Highway 14 near Unity, with no injuries and no charges laid.

Members are also investigating a complaint of crop damage after a vehicle was reported driving through a field. Insufficient evidence was available to proceed. A theft complaint remains under investigation.

RCMP responded to a damage complaint involving posts and a road sign in Unity. That matter is also under investigation.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Unity, noted for information purposes.

Members spoke with individuals regarding an animal welfare complaint and a mental health concern. Police also received a report of a suspicious individual near a business, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

There were three traffic complaints during the period.

WILKIE

A 33-year-old female from Mosquito First Nation was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle following an impaired driving complaint.

A youth was charged with assault after police received a complaint of assault.

RCMP are investigating a complaint of individuals sharing indecent videos.

A break and enter at a private property remains under investigation. Police received two additional break and enter complaints, one at a storage shed and one at a residence, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed in both cases.

CP Police reported a railway crossing malfunction, noted for information purposes.

Members attended two residences at the request of Child and Family Services to keep the peace. RCMP also responded to a Mental Health Act complaint; the subject was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Other calls during the week included a complaint of dogs running at large in Wilkie, referred to the bylaw officer, an assault with a weapon complaint that was unfounded, a complaint of a damaged residence window with insufficient evidence, a complaint of an individual banging on the outside of a residence with insufficient evidence, and a family dispute where members acted as mediators.

There were four traffic complaints, one false 911 call, and one false alarm.

In May 2026, Wilkie Citizens on Patrol Program members conducted 11 patrols covering 604 kilometres in 36.5 hours. Year to date, COPP members have volunteered 312.5 hours, travelling 2,533 kilometres across 47 patrols. MACKLIN

RCMP conducted a wellbeing check on an individual at the request of a health care professional.

An individual turned in a broken computer found in a rural area near Macklin. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of theft. That matter remains under investigation.

Members also spoke to a landlord regarding a tenant. There was one false 911 call during the period.
