Threats charges laid in Unity and Wilkie in early August

Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP detachments have released their report for the week of Aug. 4 to 10, 2026.

Unity

RCMP spoke with an individual about a child custody order.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity and a second at a rural crossing near Unity. Both were reported for information purposes.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with the subject of the complaint, who attended hospital for an assessment.

RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications. Members spoke with the subject of the complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Members received a complaint of defamatory libel. The complaint was unfounded.

A 22-year-old Unity man was charged with uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order after members found him breaching a condition of that order.

Police received a complaint of fraud. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

A 22-year-old Unity man was charged with failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with an undertaking condition after members received a complaint of a person intoxicated in public.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with the subject of the complaint and confirmed they were in the care of a sober adult.

Members also handled four traffic complaints and one false alarm.

Wilkie

RCMP received a request from Saskatoon Police Service to execute an arrest warrant.

A 68-year-old Wilkie man was charged with uttering threats after members received a complaint of threats.

Members received a report of a stolen bicycle. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a request to keep the peace while an individual completed a property repossession.

Members received a complaint of theft. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a report of a suspicious person on the highway. Members patrolled the area but could not locate the subject of the complaint.

Police received a report of a single vehicle collision. The matter remains under investigation.

Members received a report of dogs running loose in Wilkie. The matter remains under investigation.

RCMP conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a family member.

Police received a complaint of a person damaging property at a business. The matter remains under investigation.

RCMP received a report of an abandoned vehicle. Members contacted the registered owner, who agreed to move it.

CP Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Wilkie. It was reported for information purposes.

Members received a report of a break and enter at a residential garage. The complainant declined to proceed.

Police received a report of cattle on the highway near Wilkie. Members attended and found the animals off the roadway. Local farmers were contacted to help locate the owner and move the cattle to an enclosed field.

RCMP received a complaint of theft. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members also handled two traffic complaints and one false alarm.

Macklin

RCMP received a complaint of breach of peace. The matter remains under investigation.

Police received a complaint of criminal harassment. Members spoke with the subjects of the complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Members received a complaint of a break and enter at a shop near Macklin. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members also handled two traffic complaints and one false alarm.
