Following welcome messages and greetings from officials at the opening ceremonies on Sunday afternoon, the CWL National President, Betty Colaneri, shared the theme she chose for her 2025-2027 term entitled "Ignite Your Passion; Empower His Mission." She shared her inspiring journey through the League, encouraging members to prayerfully consider taking on executive responsibilities in their own parish councils and on the Diocesan Councils.

Carol Ann Mitchell from Medicine Hat, a counsellor for personal and family issues, was also a guest speaker. "She gave us a testimony on her life experiences through marriages and relationships," Betty said. Carol shared her journey of overcoming many obstacles and personal challenges in her life. Her life was forever changed after she was introduced to the Bible and gained an understanding of what was happening in her life and the importance of forgiveness. From then on, everything in her life began to change and she was able to begin helping others.
During a health break, the guests had time to check out the well-stocked resource table, as well as an information booth on the prevention of human trafficking.
Bishop Mark Hagemoen, Bishop of the Saskatoon Diocese, was the main celebrant at the opening Eucharist Celebration which took place at the close of Sunday afternoon. A banquet followed, catered by Simply Satisfied Catering, and many prizes were awarded to lucky guests.
The CWL's business meeting was held on Monday, filled with reports from the standing committees of Faith, Service and Social Justice. "Each chairperson shared what was happening throughout the province in serving in the parishes with support of sacramental celebrations, service projects, helping the poor and homeless, and social justice issues such as MAiD and euthanasia concerns," Betty explained.
Kindersley's CWL President, Geralyn Allen, was grateful to all the members of Kindersley St. Joseph's CWL council for their hard work and organization, which made the convention such a success. She's also thankful for all the members who support each other throughout the year.
