Saskatoon RCMP ask public to report sightings of escaped inmate
SASKATOON — Saskatoon RCMP are asking the public to report any sightings or information regarding an escaped inmate who was last seen earlier this week.
RCMP say they received a report at about 2:20 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, that a prisoner had escaped from custody. The inmate, who is serving a sentence at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre, was last seen around 11:30 a.m. that day on Whitecap Dakota Nation.
Police have been searching for the man since receiving the report, checking locations he is known to frequent and following up on tips from the public. The Saskatoon Police Service has been notified and is assisting with the investigation.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, 53-year-old Dale Patrick has been charged with one count of being unlawfully at large under Section 145(1) of the Criminal Code.
Patrick is described as about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. He has brown eyes, brown greying hair and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a red, blue and white plaid shirt and jeans. A photo of Patrick has been released by police.
RCMP say Patrick has connections to Saskatoon, North Battleford and the Leduc, Alta., area, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
