The Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission (Sask Wheat) and Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan (AITC-SK) have announced a new three-year partnership aimed at strengthening agriculture education and expanding educator engagement in classrooms across the province.

The partnership will support AITC-SK's ongoing educational programming while launching a new strategic initiative to enhance curriculum-connected agriculture resources and build stronger relationships with teachers and school divisions.

Funding will also support AITC-SK's Resource & Educator Expansion initiative, a multi-year effort to improve educational resources, strengthen curriculum alignment and increase access to agriculture learning opportunities, particularly for students in rural and remote communities.

"Ag in the Classroom's educational initiatives play a critical role in helping students understand the importance of agriculture and the opportunities that exist within our industry," said Blair Goldade, executive director of Sask Wheat. "This partnership with AITC-SK helps ensure Saskatchewan students and teachers have access to high-quality, engaging resources that build awareness of agriculture, food production and the role wheat growers play in feeding the world."

In 2025, AITC-SK reached more than 81,000 students and an additional 34,000 youth through more than 401,000 agriculture learning experiences delivered in 618 schools and 263 communities across Saskatchewan.

The organization currently manages more than 200 educational resources. Last year, it distributed 5,800 physical resources and recorded 5,900 digital downloads.

"This partnership represents an exciting investment in the future of agriculture education in Saskatchewan," said Sara Shymko, executive director of AITC-SK. "With Sask Wheat's support, we can take a more strategic and sustainable approach to resource development, educator engagement and curriculum alignment while continuing to inspire students to better understand agriculture and food systems."

The two organizations said the partnership will help students gain a deeper understanding of agriculture's role in Saskatchewan's economy, environment and communities while encouraging future careers and leadership in the sector.

Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan is a registered charitable organization that promotes agricultural literacy through curriculum-linked resources, teacher professional development, classroom programming and experiential learning opportunities.

Sask Wheat is a producer-led organization representing Saskatchewan wheat growers through research, market development, advocacy and communications. It invests in initiatives that support a profitable and sustainable wheat industry.
