Sask growers acclaimed to SaskOilseeds board

Jon Fehr of Herschel returns to the board of SaskOilseeds by acclamation.

Kaitlin Lake from Abernethy joins returnees Fehr, Margaret Rigetti of Langbank and Ed Schafer from Makwa on the board, a Sept. 11 statement from the Saskatchewan Oilseeds Development Commission said.

They will renew or begin their terms following the organization's annual general meeting in mid-January.

Anthony Eliason from Outlook, whose term expires this year but could have sought re-election, did not file a nomination.

"The strong interest shown by Saskatchewan oilseed growers reflects the commitment of producer leaders to advancing research, advocacy and market development on behalf of the province's canola and flax sectors," the statement said.

Board elections happen every two years. Directors serve four-year terms and may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
