RCMP respond to range of incidents in Unity, Wilkie and Macklin areas
RCMP in the Unity, Wilkie and Macklin areas dealt with a variety of incidents last week, including assaults, thefts, and property damage, according to weekly detachment reports.
In Unity, officers are investigating a report of a damaged residence door and a theft from a motor vehicle. Other calls included a wellbeing check requested by another detachment, a complaint of assault that the complainant declined to pursue, a peacekeeping request while an individual retrieved personal belongings, and reports of suspicious individuals at a local church. Members also responded to one traffic complaint and a false 911 call.
The Wilkie detachment handled several reports, including a request from Saskatoon police to locate an individual, who was not found. Officers also investigated a hit-and-run causing vehicle damage and a complaint of uttering threats, both of which could not proceed due to insufficient evidence. One Mental Health Act complaint led to the transport of the individual involved to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment. Wilkie RCMP also dealt with one traffic complaint and a false 911 call.
In Macklin, police responded to an assault complaint, which the complainant declined to pursue, and a report of broken windows at Macklin School, which could not proceed due to insufficient evidence. Officers also addressed two traffic complaints.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑8477, *8477 on SaskTel Mobility, or online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest for serious crimes.
The Unity RCMP also highlighted the convenience of online crime reporting for Saskatchewan residents. Certain incidents, including fraud under $5,000, minor vandalism, lost or stolen property under $5,000, traffic complaints without suspect information, and harassing electronic communications, can now be submitted through the RCMP’s Online Crime Reporting platform at ocresielc.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/saskatchewan. Residents are advised to contact their local RCMP detachment directly if a witness or suspect is known.
