POPULAR DESTINATION BACK IN THE DAY!
Back in the 1920s Tramping Lake Regional Park was a popular summer holiday destination. A 30’ x 70’ swimming pool was located on the east side of the lake. A pump, driven from a threshing machine belt and tractor (lent out from a neighbour) pumped water from the lake to the pool via pipe and trough. The pipe was taken down when the pool was full. The total cost to build the pool amounted to $700.00. The well-constructed diving platform at the Tramping Lake swimming pool was very popular. The kids on the diving board are: Lawrence Greer, Lloyd Bell, Ted Sample and Mary Greer.
