Perfect 29! Wayne Becker hits cribbage’s rarest hand

It wasn’t just an ordinary crib night at Caleb Village for resident Wayne Becker.

Wayne was all smiles last week after being dealt the ultimate cribbage hand — a perfect 29.

The elusive 29-point hand requires three fives and a jack in the player’s hand, with the cut card revealing the fourth five — in the same suit as the jack. With all the combinations of fifteens, pairs and the jack matching the cut card’s suit, it adds up to the highest possible hand in cribbage.

Congratulations, Wayne, on a hand most crib players can go a lifetime without seeing!

And Wayne... with luck like that, it might just be a good day to buy a lottery ticket.
