No trespassing warning issued

By Joan Janzen

On March 11, 2024, the properties commonly known as the old hospital and Buena Vista, located at 645 Columbia Avenue and 635 Alberta Avenue, were reclaimed by the Town of Kerrobert.

The property, subject to tax enforcement, was successfully retrieved through the appropriate tax enforcement proceedings and contact with the previous owner. Following this development, the Town of Kerrobert issued a warning regarding trespassing on the premises.

The Town will install a construction fence around the perimeter of the building and put up No-Trespassing signs. The Town of Kerrobert has contacted the RCMP to inform them that this is now town property. They have confirmed that they may now enforce no entry into the buildings.

Residents are advised to phone the RCMP if they see or suspect people in the buildings. Parents are asked to inform their children/teenagers so they are also aware that this is a chargeable offence. There will be a slight delay until the fence is set up.
