Luseland kids dive into science camp

Thirty-five eager young scientists participated in a Science Camp at the Luseland Library on Tuesday afternoon, August 18th. The camp was conducted by representatives from the Saskatchewan Science Centre and focused on the aquatic environment.

"The children had a fantastic time learning all about water through exciting, hands-on experiments and interactive activities," librarian Dawna Nienaber said.

The children, ranging from kindergarten to Grade 6, heard all about creatures living in or near the water and how water is essential to both aquatic life and human life. They also learned about dams, aqueducts, waterwheels and submarines, and how rivers, wetlands and shorelines are shaped by moving water.

The program was made possible through funding from the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF), which helps bring fun, educational opportunities to children.
