Kerrobert Legion shows off new improvements ahead of Remembrance Day

The Kerrobert Legion Branch No. 88 is celebrating a series of improvements to its hall and cenotaph area, thanks to support from the local Kinsmen and provincial funding.

A new fence behind the Legion Cenotaph, installed by the Kinsmen, now frames the monument and enhances its visibility. The Legion also praised the Grade 5/6 class from Kerrobert Composite School for their “amazing efforts” during this year’s town-wide Poppy Campaign, noting that the students’ dedication contributed to a successful fundraiser. Community members who supported the campaign were also thanked.

Branch No. 88 is a recipient of the 2025–26 Saskatchewan Veterans Service Club Support Program, funding from the provincial government aimed at sustaining veterans’ service organizations. The Legion has used the funds to replace the main floor of the Kerrobert Legion/Kinsmen Hall, making the facility more welcoming and easier to maintain. The hall, owned by the Legion, has been managed by the Kinsmen since 2004 under a long-standing partnership.

The Legion invited the public to attend its Remembrance Day service on Nov. 11 to honour veterans and view the recent improvements. Branch members also participated in a ceremony at Kerrobert Composite School on Nov. 7.
