Impaired driving charge laid after Highway 7 traffic stop: Rosetown RCMP
ROSETOWN — A driver has been charged with impaired operation following a traffic stop on Highway 7 in the RM of St. Andrews, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Police said the stop occurred March 28 at about 5:52 p.m. The charge was among several incidents reported by Rosetown RCMP between March 28 and April 2.
Earlier that day, officers responded to two reports of suspicious vehicles — one in Zealandia and another in the RM of St. Andrews. The first was deemed non-suspicious, while patrols were unable to locate the second vehicle.
That evening, members also assisted with a dispute in Rosetown. No further action was required.
On March 30, RCMP received a complaint of mischief to a motor vehicle in Rosetown.
On April 1, officers began investigating a break and enter at a property in Rosetown. The investigation remains ongoing. Police also responded to a report of a semi travelling on Highway 7 with its back gate open; the driver was located and secured the vehicle, and no further action was taken.
Later that day, RCMP received a report of an alleged assault in Elrose. That investigation is continuing.
On April 2, police began investigating a fraud complaint involving a bitcoin scam in Rosetown. A separate report was also received from a resident who lost a wallet at a local business.
During the reporting period, RCMP issued 21 traffic-related charges. Officers also responded to three 911 misdials and five false alarm calls.
