Impaired driving charge among calls for Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP

Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP responded to a variety of calls between Sept. 1 and 7, including thefts, harassment, railway crossing malfunctions and an impaired driving investigation.

Unity

Unity RCMP are investigating a complaint involving an individual allegedly damaging a vehicle, as well as a separate harassment complaint.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity for information purposes, while RCMP also assisted Emergency Medical Services with patients on two occasions.

Police received a theft complaint in which the subject of the complaint later returned and paid for the item. The complainant requested no further police action.

RCMP also responded to a missing person complaint, with the individual later located. In another call, police received a report of a child walking alone on the street. Members located the child and returned them to their guardian.

Police also responded to a fire started by a transformer. The Unity Fire Department extinguished the fire and it was determined to be non-suspicious.

Unity RCMP also dealt with two traffic complaints and one false alarm.

Wilkie

Wilkie RCMP received a complaint that an individual was not complying with an undertaking condition; however, the complainant declined to proceed with the matter.

Police received a found birth certificate that had been turned in and are investigating a report of a stolen bicycle.

CN Police reported two railway crossing malfunctions in a rural area near Reford during the week. Both incidents were reported for information purposes.

RCMP also received a theft complaint that was determined to be unfounded and are investigating a separate theft complaint. Members received several reports of individuals allegedly disobeying a court order, which remain under investigation.

Police also conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a concerned citizen and responded to one traffic complaint and one false 911 call.

Macklin

A 35-year-old Macklin woman has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after RCMP received a report of a traffic collision.

Macklin RCMP also spoke with an individual regarding a tenant eviction and assisted another person by contacting a family member to arrange transportation.

Police received a report of horses on the highway near Primate. Members attended and found the animals were in an enclosed area.

RCMP also responded to two false alarms.
