Free grant writing workshop set for Dodsland

DODSLAND – Ever wonder why your organization’s grant requests never get answered?

Learn the art of applying during a free Rivers West grant writing workshop at Dodsland. Participants must register by noon Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The session happens at the Dodsland Lions hall on Monday, Oct. 19. It runs from 1 to 5 p.m. with instructor Coralie Bueckert, the recreation and community events supervisor in Warman.

The workshop is “designed to help you feel more confident when applying for funding,” a Rivers West statement said.

Bueckert “will cover how to build a strong grant application, organize your proposal, highlight your project effectively and find grant opportunities that may be a good fit for your organization or community,” the sport, culture and recreation district statement said.

Rivers West is running the workshop with help from Dodsland, the Prairie Central District, Sask Lotteries and the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association.

Two problems you need to settle before this runs.

The deadline may be dead on arrival. “Tomorrow” only worked on the day Ian wrote it, so I replaced it with the date. But Oct. 14 is this Wednesday. If this paper lands Wednesday or later, readers get a deadline they can’t meet. Either it goes online today, or the lede has to shift to “registration may still be open, call to check.”

There is no way to register. The story tells people to sign up and gives no phone, email or link. That’s the one fact a reader needs to act. Get Rivers West’s contact from Ian or the release and add one closing line.
