Five candidates nominated for Kindersley by-election

By Kate Winquist

KINDERSLEY Voters in Kindersley will head to the polls next month to fill one vacant seat on town council, with five candidates officially nominated.

The by-election follows the resignation of Councillor Anthony Barlow in October 2025.

According to information released by the Town of Kindersley, Darrell Fitterer, Sharon Haubrich, Brett Sautner, Kim Vogel and Nathan Ward are running in the upcoming by-election. Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name.

The strong slate marks a notable shift from recent years. The town’s last two by-elections were decided by acclamation, but this time voters will choose from five names — a sign of renewed interest in local civic leadership.

An advance poll is scheduled for March 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Town of Kindersley Administration Office, 106-5th Ave. E.

Election day will be held March 25 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., also at the Town of Kindersley Administration Office.

Residents seeking more information about the by-election can contact the town office at 306-463-2675 or visit www.kindersley.ca.

With multiple candidates vying for a single position, the upcoming vote offers residents an opportunity to take an active role in shaping the future of their community.
