ESTON – The Town of Eston announced the naming of Olorenshaw St. NW in honour of Cliff and Margaret Olorenshaw, who provided 54 years of service to their community. From 1972 to 2026, the couple faithfully served their customers at 200 - 3rd Street NW in Eston.

Cliff and Margaret’s daughter Lea Leier said her family wanted to do something to celebrate Olorenshaw Farm Services’ 54 years of business and her parents’ contribution to the Eston community.
“My parents were not real keen on this idea; they are not big on getting attention,” she noted. Nevertheless, Lea joined forces with Jody Irwin from the Town of Eston and the duo began planning a celebration.
“They knew about the celebration on October 10th, but naming a street in their honour was a secret,” Lea said.
Although Cliff and Margaret didn’t think many people would show up, a crowd of 142 friends and family attended the come-and-go event held in their honour. Master of Ceremonies Carl Hanson spoke about some of the history of the business and the Olorenshaws’ extensive volunteer service to Eston, along with a PowerPoint presentation. This was followed by Deputy Mayor John Dahl making the street sign presentation.
“We were shocked at the street name!” Margaret said.
“I think they are still trying to wrap their heads around it. They are obviously very touched and honoured,” Lea said. “It was a great afternoon and our family is very grateful to the wonderful community of Eston.”
