Eston Composite School students raise more than $12,000 for Terry Fox

Submitted

The Eston Composite School students have raised an astounding total of $12,114.80 throughout September!

Making a splash for a good cause: An Eston Composite School student pours ice-cold water over a staff member’s head in the school gym. Students who raised $200 or more during September’s fundraising campaign earned the chance to pie or soak a staff member.

There were classroom challenges involved and incentives for students to raise $200 or more. If they met this incentive, they were able to pie a staff member in the face or dump ice-cold water over a staff member’s head.

There was an incentive of an ice cream float party for the highest fundraising classroom, which the Grade 4 class earned.

There were incentives for the total reaching both the $5,000 and $10,000 marks. One student on our Terry Fox committee, Sophie Trytten, volunteered to donate her hair for wigs if the school reached $5,000. The school’s reward for surpassing $10,000 is a gym blast, which will take place at a later date.

Thank you to all of the students, staff, parents, and community members who made our dream of raising more than $10,000 a reality!
