Erratic driving, semi rollover lead Rosetown RCMP weekly calls
Rosetown and Kyle RCMP responded to a range of calls between May 22 and 28, with erratic driving complaints and a semi rollover among the week's notable files.
Officers laid charges after a disturbing the peace call in Rosetown early on May 23. A mischief complaint in town followed minutes later.
On May 24, police were called to a reported assault at a Rosetown business but deemed the file unfounded after speaking with everyone involved. RCMP were also notified of a tractor fire near Harris, where no injuries were reported, and conducted a wellbeing check in Rosetown.
May 25 was the week's busiest day. Police fielded a suspicious vehicle complaint in Wiseton, an animal complaint in Elrose, and a harassing communications complaint in Rosetown. A U.S. police agency contacted RCMP about a potential fraud investigation that remains ongoing. Officers also received three driving complaints, including erratic driving on Highway 7 near Fiske and near Elrose, both still under investigation.
RCMP assisted Rosetown Hospital on May 26.
Erratic driving complaints continued, with reports on Highway 7 west of Rosetown on May 27 and near Zealandia on May 28. Members were unable to locate or intercept the vehicles in either case. Police responded to a semi rollover north of Fiske on May 28. No further details were available.
Officers issued 44 traffic-related charges during the week and responded to one 911 mis-dial and one false alarm.
