Elizabeth School bands put on an amazing show

The Elizabeth School gym was filled with the sound of music on Wednesday evening, May 20th. Michael Reece introduced the Grade 6 band at the beginning of the evening. These students had worked really hard to put on this show, and you could tell by their faces they were very excited to share their talent with their parents and grandparents.

The Grade 6 band performed three selections, as Mr. Reece noted, "It's impossible how much work goes into these three songs." However, the band's excellent performance was the evidence of their hard work.
The Jr. Jazz Band followed, as they performed "Little Sunflower," "Beauty and the Beast," "Smoke on the Water" and "Viva la Vida." Their instructor acknowledged it took a long time for the jazz band "to get here," after which the band wowed their audience with each selection.
Last but not least, the Grade 7 band performed "Dark Adventure" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" before playing the last piece entitled "Happy." "Happy they're done with band?" Mr. Reece quipped. However, the students looked like they were enjoying every minute of their special evening.
"I'm so proud of them," their instructor said, and all the family and friends in the audience were equally proud of all the band members.
