Eaton School Senior Band earns gold at Sun Peaks Festival
Staff, students, family and friends are extremely proud of Eaton School's Senior Band. The band represented Eaton School and the community of Eatonia at the Con Brio Sun Peaks Festival in BC last month, where they impressed the festival organizers. The entire adjudication panel noted the superior level of talent, maturity and integrity the band displayed alongside the large city bands.

The band was awarded gold standing, and one of the adjudicators extended a personal invitation to workshop at UBC. One of the band students was excited when an instructor offered encouragement, noting some of the world's finest musicians come from rural areas and small towns.
Chaperones and staff accompanying the students saw the students display professionalism on stage and off throughout the entire trip. Mrs. Diedra Whitell directed the Eaton Senior Band 2026, and Melissa Hynd performed as a percussionist and also chaperoned. Additional chaperones included Trish Lee, Amanda Longmuir and Dave Becker.
