Built for steam, still standing

After seeing last week's photo of the roundhouse from the steam era in Kindersley, Laura Wyman submitted a photo of this drill press, which is in storage at the Wyman farm. After the roundhouse closed, the large and heavy piece of equipment was converted to electric and used on the Wyman farm. Former Kindersley resident Ron Lamont said the roundhouse employed welders, boiler makers, machinists and other tradesmen who used the drill press to fabricate parts for the steam engines. The drill press will be donated to the museum once arrangements can be made to move it.
