A Swingin’ Night Out in the ’70s!

Fifty years ago, the Bamboo Gardens was the place to be in Kindersley. Disco lights, funky tunes, and bell-bottoms in full effect, the night club came alive when Ricky Campbell took over as owner and invited his former group, The Travelling Band, for a guest appearance. For just $1 – yes, one dollar! – patrons got “top notch” entertainment, though the real show may have been the band’s groovy costumes, complete with glitter, platform shoes, and plenty of flair. What they played is lost to history, but you can bet it had toes tapping and hips swaying.
