75 kids enjoyed a week of VBS at Leader

During a drop-in visit at Leader's Vacation Bible School (VBS) last week, I discovered seventy-five kids ranging in age from 3 to 12 participating in the week-long activities and lessons. A group of twenty-five adults and teens was keeping the kids busy throughout the week.

Joyce Trautwein, who helped out during the week, explained the VBS was sponsored by the Leader Ministerial group. The kids did some activities together as a group before moving into stations, where they were divided into smaller groups according to their age.

She said each day had the kids singing along to a video, hearing Bible stories, doing crafts and playing games in the park. They also had an opportunity to demonstrate their drama skills as they acted out Bible stories. Their drama was recorded, and they later enjoyed watching their performance.

The theme for the week was Rainforest Falls – Exploring the Nature of God. Surrounded by a rainforest setting, the kids discovered God as their creator and refuge in life's storms. They learned what it means to be rooted in a lasting relationship with God, who made each of them with love and purpose.
